ERGObaby Carrier Giveaway

February 4, 2010

I am an avid baby wearer, all of my babies have been worn for at least a few months of their lives.  I have done the snugglie, the wraps, mei teis, buckle teis, slings, pouches you name it I have either tried it or owned it.  One thing I have aspired to own though and never had the chance was the Ergo.  I fell in love with the carriers but everytime I went to buy one I could not pick one I liked more then the other so gave up and bought something different.  I am not sure what I was thinking, I have the Ergo now and wish I had it when I started having my babies years ago.

WHY CHOOSE ERGO?

The ERGObaby Carrier's ergonomic design supports a correct sitting position for the baby's hip, pelvis and spine growth. It disperses most of the baby's weight between the hips and thighs, which helps to eliminate compression of the spine when hanging by the crotch which most other designs require. The ERGO also balances the baby's weight to parents' hips and shoulders, and alleviates physical stress for the parent.

Standard Baby Carrier Features

•Ergonomic design
•400 threads per inch cotton poplin lining and hood
•100% cotton batting in body of carrier to soften edges
•One inch, high density foam in shoulder straps
•Quarter inch high density neoprene foam in waist belt
•High Quality buckles tested by SGS
•Waist belt circumference from 25" to 43"
•Fits from 5' to 6'5" body height with adjustable shoulder and chest straps
•Sleeping hood with elastic, adjusts in length to growth of baby
•High quality webbing, matched to carrier color
•Reinforcement stitching used at all fabric intersections
•Interior rip-stop reinforcements at critical intersections
•Durability/strength tested up to 90 pounds
•Machine washable - cold, gentle cycles, mild detergent, no bleach. Dry in low heat

The ERGO is a beautiful carrier, Holden is comfortable being worn in it as is Maddisyn.  Despite the age difference they are very close in weight and so I don't find the difference on carrying one or the other.  Holden prefers a front carry still while Maddisyn prefers the back so we have carried them both ways and can honestly say the carrier does not dig in or hurt my shoulders, back or neck in either position which is a big thing for us.  If mommy/daddy is not comfortable then neither is baby.

The ERGObaby Carrier can be bought from ERGOBaby Carriers and it comes in organic for $135 with 8 differnt colors and patterns available or the original for $105.00 with 6 different colors/patterns available.  You can also go to their Retailers page and search for a retailer near you if you are inpatient and don't want to wait like me.

ERGObaby also carries a wide range of accessories for their carriers like the infant insert which enables you to use the carrier from birth on up with your baby and supports your babys head and neck.  They range in price from $18.80 up to $38.00.  They also have the changing pad which sells for $46.00 it comes with two washable liners, a moisture resistant soiled items bag and plenty of pockets for storage and can attach to the Ergo carrier.

Very important for a mom or dad who is a little bit thicker in the waist you can purchase a waist extension which extends the waist on the ergo from 43" to 51" giveing an extra 8"  The waist extension is $8.00 and due to having four kids I need one because the waist belt just barely fits me, I totally am planning on getting in shape look for posts like that coming from me soon.  You can get a replacement chest strap or hood for the sport carrier as well.  Ergo also makes a raincover (currently out of stock) that looks totally awesome and I think i will be ordering one of these as well.

There is a backpack carrier as well for it. Designed as a day pack, the Backpack easily snaps around the straps of the ERGObaby carrier, for an all-in-one baby carrier and day pack. Carry your baby and necessities for a day away from home; great for active parents who love to hike.  The backpack costs $49.00 but hey if i can leave my diaper bag at home then it is worth the price.  A component of ERGObaby's HandsFree System.

Ergo also has a front pouch.  Velcro attaches the pouch around the waist belt when the ERGO baby carrier is worn on the front, back or hip. It comes with a shoulder strap so you can carry your personals with you even when you are not using the ERGObaby carrier. A wallet, checkbook, cell phone, sunglasses, keys, a small notebook, pen, passport, and tickets are types of items that will fit in the pouch. The cost of the front pouch is $21.00.  A component of ERGObaby's HandsFree System.

ERGObaby offers free shipping on all orders $149.00 and over (US Only).  But good news is that ERGO now ships Worldwide
