I would like to point out that all the thousands of pounds of cargo vapor that goes into a thermal oxidizer goes out the exhaust stack as greenhouse gas and unburned VOC, etc.
My company uses refrigeration to condense cargo vapors. We make zero NOx, CO, CO2 and there is no VOC release. All the recovered cargo is condensed and us recycled. We have no release during the tank degassing process. I am always skeptical that the thermal oxidizers really burn all the VOC that is in the big tanks.
