So as you all know we are planning a mini-cation and while we are not going that long or that far we do not need to worry about visas and what not.  But if you are planning a trip that would take you on extended stay out of country I suggest you look into a good immigration attorney.  My friend was trying to immigrate to the United States to live with her husband so I have been reading on a lot of different Immigration lawyer/immigration attorney websites but I really liked what I saw on Darren Silver and Associates, they lay it out and I could understand it.

Potty Training - Sesame Street 1-2-3 Learn with Me Potty Chair

Whoever said girls were easier then boys obviously has no idea what they are talking about, or has never tried to train my strong willed daughter one or the other. 

Last year for Easter Maddisyn got a new potty, and refused to sit on it.  It was a carefully chosen potty in neutral colors so her brother could too use it but with a comfy seat so she would not mind so much sitting on it FAIL!!! epic fail actually.  She hated the darn thing and refused to sit on it.  I thought ok she is just a little too young yet for it, she was not quite 2 and I will not push her to train.  So we waited, kept asking her to sit on the potty with the same refusal.  She finally decided she wanted to wear panties, so we told her she would have to potty as well if she was wearing panties.  Again she refused to sit on the potty that we bought.

I got frustrated and had no idea what to do, I mean I am still not pushing her but I really don't want an unpotty trained 3 year old.  So Maddisyn and I went on the great potty hunt, well I did she just sat at the computer with me.  I came across the Sesame Street 1-2-3 Learn with Me Potty Chair by Kolcraft, which BTW just happens to be my favorite seller of baby items and I have worked wtih in the past and will be working with again in the near future, and immediatly thought I had a winner.  Maddisyn loves elmo and paired with the Elmo's Potty Time movie I thought this would be PERFECT.  So we headed off to walmart and bought it for her, brought it home and put her into panties, the first day we had a couple of accidents and one time she started peeing but told me and we ran to the potty and she finished there.  I was so proud of her and we gave her mini tootsie rolls to reward her attempt.  Apparently the soft potty seat has nothing on Elmo lol.

Over the next few days we had more accidents then making it to the potty, she knows when she has to go, the problem is that she waits until it is too late and then we don't make it to the potty in time.  Today she actually came up to Lee without him asking and said peepee, but alas they were too late and she peed her panties before she made it there, but yay for her asking she just needs to do it a few min sooner.  She was still willing to sit on the potty though and after a couple of minutes asked Lee, I get tootsie?

I just have to share with you a site I found with the cutest shirts.  It is called Justjen.com and she makes custom shirts.  there are many styles and types of shirts to choose from and 20 designs you can have put on the shirt. 

You go on and pick your shirt type, color and size and then the fun part you get to personalize it.  You can create a design on both the front and the back of the shirt and the design is put on with Genuine Swarovski Crystal rhinestones.

Nads Hair Removal Cream

I am always on the lookout for hair removal products to make my showers faster (refer to my I had a bath post).  Shaving is simply too long for my monsters and Nair stinks to high heck and frankly it irritates my skin most of the time.  I recently was told about Nads hair removal cream and will for sure be on the hunt for this to give it a shot.  Now while I cannot tell you about my actual experience with the product I can still tell you what I have read about the product.

Nads hair removal cream removes unwanted hair and keeps it gone for weeks at a time, I know when I do have time to shave that the hair is generally back in a few days and so annoying because then again the cycle of finding time to shave starts again.  It also leaves your skin smooth and features a powerful triple-action formula that removes coarse and dark hair.  The cream goes on with a simple foam head so the cream stays on the hair on your legs but not on your hands. 

To use you put the cream on the area to be treated and let stand 5 minutes then wipe off, hey I can do that and the kids can keep me in their eyesight.  Now I have super sensitive skin so anything like this is always a concern to me but they have a cream available with natural skin protectors like honey and chamomile in it which is what I would totally go for.

Nads also does more then just your legs they also have a facial hair removal cream for those unlucky people who have unwanted facial hair.  More then just hair removal cream they also have hair removal wax strips for people brave enough to wax (I am too chicken of the pain so this is not for me).  They also have products for men such as a mens handsfree cream, mens hair removal strips and so much more.

I had a bath tonight

Haha ok I know the post title is weird but honestly in this house I get to shower long enough to wash my hair and me and then I have a kid that is in dire need of something.  No matter how settled I can get the kids it is like they have built in mommy tracker lol do the make mommy GPS where the kids can do some gps real time tracking and know exactly where I am at all times?  If I even think bath Holden starts crying, Maddisyn wants my attention or the boys start fighting.  So tonight I said enough I told Lee I was going to lock the bathroom door, have a hot bath and would not be out until the water was cold or I was good and ready whichever came first.  I was lucky enough to be in there relaxing and reading a book for about an hour and when I got out the house was still standing the kids were all in bed although not sleeping they were in bed so thats something.

Once i got out of the bath I sat down on my computer to blog but I think I forgot my brain in the bathtub and was sure I was not going to get anything remotely sensible written tonight.  So instead I started playing with my blackberry that I just got, which I am totally in love with btw, but then I spent an hour trying to deal with mobile connection manager and email setups and blackberry messanger and ugh now I know why I hate getting a new cellphone and although I wish I would have gotten an Iphone this will do until I can afford to buy one, or the nice people at Apple ask me to review one for them.  Then I started talking a friend about manufacturing in mexico and USA and all that stuff (I have had this post before), needless to say we left off agreeing to disagree and left it at that.

All in all I had a very relaxing evening now I am off to bed to get some much needed sleep and hope Holden sleeps all night tonight, he has a nasty cold and my poor boy has been hacking his little lungs out.

Fun Stuff For Families

We do not take nearly enough family vacations together although I really wish that we did.  It just seems something else comes up and we cannot go but we do try to get away at least once in a year.  We are heading to Great Wolf Lodge in March which we are totally excited for and know the kids will have so much fun it is a much needed vacation.  We are hoping to maybe take them somewhere else this summer.  We were thinking of going to like Cedar Point in Ohio or something but then who knows I would love to take them to New York and check out the sites and sounds of a very large, very busy city.  The kids have my love for musicals so maybe even take in a show on Broadway with them or something, I have even gone so far as to start looking at Broadway Tickets to see what kind of shows there are that I think the kids would like.

That is all a dream and I am sure it will not happen this year but soon, once the babies are a little older to understand what is going on and sit through a show maybe.

In the meantime we will do things closer to home, dream about big vacations and have fun right where we are.  It is not where you are it is who you are with that makes life so fun.  The kids love to play outside and so do we, this summer will be soooo fun with Maddisyn on her Strider Bike learning to be a big girl on a big girl bike and Chase and Blake on the PlasmaCar we will do lots of fun stuff.  We have even thought about getting them a electric bike to ride around the neighbourhood, although I think if I had to pedel myself as a kid they can too.

We go swimming, play ball, go to the park, jump on the trampoline, go camping and just spend time in general together, what do you and your family do to be together?

Satellite or Cable

When we were buying our house we went through this great phase where we were unsure of which we would go with if any at all.  I couldn't decide if I wanted to go with cable and use what I know or go with satellite and just branch out of my comfort zone. 

I spent a ton of time looking around for satellite or cable and browsing sites and looking at the packages they offered.  I was particulary intrigued by Direct TV.  In comparison of the packages with the cable company and the Direct TV Packages the price was better and we got more channels in the process.  I of course panicked because there was too many choices and went with nothing for the longest time haha.  I am like that if things start getting overwhelming I just step away, if I don't I would sitting in a corner rocking back and forth sucking my thumb I am sure lol.  All in all though DirectTV Packages were the best deals and when we actually go to satellite I will be looking a little futher into them.

Are you kidding me right now

Lee works for a cell phone company for a living.  He has a great bunch of co-workers and I really enjoy them, I love his direct manager she rocks.  His actual boss I have not met so I have no opinon on him.  He has been working for this cell phone company for 19 months now and I guess really likes his job.  Back last May the company was sold out to a different one and so all of his stuff changed.  His pay changed, his benefits changed, his company name changed, his boss changed.  Too much change at once and I did not bother trying to keep up.

I just recently started to look through all his benefits papers and ugh is all I can say ugh.  He has NO vision coverage at all which really sucks since we all wear glasses here except the two babies and I bet they will need them sooner or later too.  His dental plan is an affordable dental plan but they only pay 80% of certain things and it seems like the list is very very short.  The medical plan is not really important to us here since it is paid already.  The prescription plan is great except they again only pay 80% and we have to pay first and then be reimbursed which is a total PITA.  But I guess that is ok we only pay about 100 a month for the plan although we never use it so I am not overly sure why we keep paying for it.

All in all though he is happy where he is, I am happy we have benefits and he is happy at his job, we host bbqs and bonfires with his co-workers and have fun playing guitar hero and rockband and riding the plasma car and all sorts of fun stuff.

I know a lot of people that are into Homeopathy and natural remedies.  I happen to be one as well, although not as hardcore as some people I know, I will go to a doctor if I feel the need but if my child is teething or has a low grade fever I will use homeopathic methods or treatment first and then if that fails I will move forward to the doctor. 

My knowledge of homeopathic remedies pretty much consists of the above mentioned and fenugreek and blessed thistle for breast milk increase and my kids take vitamin C.  As I mentioned before I know people really into it, these people have what seems like hundreds of bottles of different things in their house to treat different ailments and then of course they have the other equipments like the vaporizer.

 I was browsing around and must say they have a ton of stuff that I would love to get I really liked this bergamot and Lime candle in a tin it would match my living room perfectly.  Another thing on there that I might just have to buy as a gift for one of my friends is the iolite vaporizer because she complains when she can't bring hers places and this one is made to be more portable.

I have owned my own domain name for a while now, I own http://www.jabberingjessi.info/ but I was hesitant to even put it onto my blogspot I was terrified I would lose my ranks and my hard earned stats but tonight I took the leap and now jabberingjessi.blogspot.com will redirect but is no more and my official link is jabberingjessi.info. 

I have worked very hard to get my blog into the position it is in and to be honest with you I am so proud of myself and feel very blessed to have a great family and husband who supports me and stood by me in my crazy days of gettign started and I feel even more blessed that I have some amazing friends both online and offline that have supported me, helped me, guided me, answered my 2 am freaking out phone calls or emails or reached out just to say hey good work I am proud of you.

Green Clean

I take the kids to the Parent and Family Literacy center Monday-Friday from 9 until 1.  It is a chance for Maddisyn to interact with other children as well as a chance for me to interact with other parents/adults.  We have a pretty basic routine there but one that we do enjoy as the structure is good, we go in we do a craft the kids free play and then we have snack time, then there is story time and free play until we leave.  In there we do clean quite a bit as well i know the teacher cleans the toys in the evenings. 

Now while we are there I know for a fact that we clean everything from the tables to the toys in vinegar and water, but I do also know that the janitor uses industrial cleaning supplies on stuff in there as well and that concerns me.  I know that the janitorial cleaning supplies are necessary to ensure that we don't get sick and the things are really clean but I also know my kids put these toys in their mouths.  I think that the school should take on the policy of using green cleaning supplies instead of using harsh chemicals.

Do your schools use industrial supplies or do they use green supplies now?

Woodworking

I have always used woodworking as a source of stress relief.  We have done many things such as toy boxes, bird houses, butterfly houses, adarondak chairs, and so many other things

I love the smell of the wood as we cut it.  I love the intricate cuts when using the scroll saw, I have even done some that are so small they look like pencil.  I love painting the things after we are completed them and all of the stuff that we can do and proudly call our own work. 

Now that we no longer live with my mother in law we have to travel to do our woodworking which means planning which means I never get to do it anymore which makes me sad.  We have a hard time making it there with Lee working til 6, kids having cubs and swimming and the babies needing naps or the house needing my attention or one of hte many other things going on. 

I was never good enough to make like solid wood furniture, or a jelly cabinet or anything like that but I was good enough to call it pretty and be functional.  Hopefully this summer we can go and build more stuff for the house, I would like to do a couple more butterfly houses and some more adarondak chairs so wish me luck.

Siding and windows and doors oh my

I am singing that over and over again in my head to the tune of Lions and tigers and bears oh my haha.  I have decided that this will be my last house rant post since I gave up on the house lol.  Lee can worry about shingle colors and siding colors and installation and nail guns and scafolding and and and and I know there are a lot of ands lol

My head is spinng around in circles still who knew buying this house would lead to so many decisions.  It will be a few months before we need to make any final choices on which vinyl siding we are going to go with, I want to install Patio doors in the front of the house onto a deck but who knows if that will happen and then of course we need to change all the windows since they are all single pane and it is cold here. 

Do you have patio doors?  French doors?  Do you love them or hate them?  I am not sure if i want them or not, I really want to get them I love a nice set being open to let the sunshine and warmth into the house but who knows.  I think this will be my last house rant until they are actually working on it but who knows.  I find that writing out how i feel helps me and then Lee reads it as well adn we don't end up arguing over silly things because we are both stressed with the decisions.

Parent and Family Literacy Center

In the city we live with have a three or four Parent and Family Literacy center or PFLC for short.  We take the kids there that are aged newborn to 4 or 5 and it helps to prepare them for kindegarten and helps them learn to socialize.  The parents stay and the kids do crafts, play, snacktime, storytime.  Our center has all sorts of toys for babies and kids alike.

Today while there Maddisyn was playing with alittle drum and two little drumsticks, another kid tried to take the toy from her so Maddisyn hit them.  I spent hte next 20 minutes trying to get Maddisyn apologize and the other child spent 20 minutes screaming at the top of her lungs over and over again while throwing stuff. 

Well as soon as the kid started screaming Maddisyn lost it, she cannot handle loud noises or yelling or anything like that, she just totally freaks right out starts crying and runs and hides.  I felt so bad I couldn't get her to apologize but everytime she calmed down and was ready the little girl would scream again and Maddisyn would cling to me sobbing again so there was no way I could force her.

My poor baby I am not sure what is up with her and the loud noises but if the boys are in their room or the basement and I call to them Maddisyn freaks and runs and hides.  My father in law is a welder by trade and from all the time he spent doing I dunno plastic welding or arc or mig or something I really don't know but I do know that he does not hear well and talks loud because of it, or at least that is what we say lmao.  Anyways he is so loud sometimes even him talking freaks her out, I have to take her to the doctors and get his opinion on it although I am sure it is just a part of Maddisyns sensitive nature and nothing to be concerned about.

Random Talking

Lee said to me today aren;t you worried about all your random ramblings on your blog.  I was like umm well since it is called Jabbering Jessi I think my readers expect a bit of random just talking.  If did not then I would not be living up to my name afterall.  So I will continue to ramble and rant and talk and post reviews and giveaways and posts of all sorts.  Obviously some of my posts are paid, some are not, some are there as a favor to other companies and are mostly just keywords in my random posts that link to a site which is cool for me,  If you are interested in the other site then feel free to check out, if not then don't click on it, that is ok.

I am going to continue my house ranting (look for another one of those coming tonight this time about my windows and siding I love my house I do but I really just need to get this stuff off my chest.  I am also going to continue my rants with random linked keywords thrown in like explosionproof hvac, and explosion proof air conditioners, I actually read a bit on the site about it and am rather impressed with all I have read.
